Vandalized Planters + New Neighbor Might Park Trucks on Greenway

We had a great turn-out at our January community event, thanks to you! Check out the photos on our website and videos on our Instagram.

Also, our petition has reached nearly 1,200 signatures in just one month! We would love to see you on the parcel: volunteers are always there on Sundays from noon onwards, come say hi.

Mission Local Article + Neighboring Building For Sale

Some of our planters were damaged by affiliates of a realtor representing a neighboring building. Photo by Will Jarrett.

You may have read up on recent developments in this Mission Local article. A few days prior to our January event, we experienced a heartbreaking setback: almost half of our planter boxes were moved and vandalized by the realtor who represents the adjoining warehouse at 931-933 Treat Ave.

Most recently, we learned that the internet service provider Monkeybrains may purchase the warehouse and would intend to park their fleet on the parcel.

We have written Monkeybrains and asked them to share their plans with the community, but we have not received a response.

If you feel inclined, please reach out to Monkeybrains and request that they share their intentions for this unclaimed parcel, which we believe the neighborhood wishes to be a greenway, not a parking lot.

Email bizdev@monkeybrains.net and alex@monkeybrains.net, or on Twitter at @monkeybrainsnet.
